Coupons and discounts

Coupons let customers enter a discount code during checkout.

Supported rules

The current schema and checkout directly support:

• code;
• percentage discounts;
• fixed discounts;
• value;
• active/inactive state;
• expiration date;
• global usage limit;
• usage counter.

Checkout validation

Checkout verifies that the coupon exists, is active, is not expired and has not reached its global usage limit before applying percentage/fixed discount logic.

Do not promise unsupported rules

Do not claim minimum purchase, per-customer limits, max discount, free shipping or category/product scope unless those rules are implemented and enforced in the deployed checkout.
